|
Climate: |
|
Mostly arid
desert, with seasonal rains in the west. |
|
Attractions: |
|
Jordan stands at the
crossroad of what is The Holy Land for Christians, Muslims and
Jews. Tourists are drawn to it’s heritage, with cities which were old when Christ was born. You can walk down
pathways mentioned in the Old Testament. You can
wander into buildings which once housed the sets for the epic
Lawrence of Arabia. You can feel the thrill and the awe
at being so close to history. Some might even call it a life
altering experience. |
|
Culture:
|
|
Majority Sunni
Muslim, ruled by a King and his royal family of courtiers,
as is much of the Middle East. Jordan is still considered to be one
of the most vibrant economies in the region and certainly, one of
the most liberal. |
|
Healthcare: |
|
Doctors in Jordan’s
accredited and monitored private hospitals treat
more than a 100,000 foreign patients
every year, mostly for coronary care and kidney, brain and eye
surgeries. While a majority of these patients are Arabic, an
increasing number of Western patients from the United States,
Canada and the EU are coming in for treatment to Jordan. |
