The basic premise of
Ayurvedic treatment is to
tackle the root cause of ailments, rather than simply relieving
symptoms associated with the illness. For example, a valve malfunction
in your heart is not treated with a bypass operation, but by giving
relief to the body and easing pressure on the heart, and giving your
body and immune system time to rectify the problem.
Ayurveda, as practiced in India, is an ancient
science, perfected over thousands of years. In fact, Ayurveda is the
oldest holistic medicine known to man. The earliest written form of
Ayurveda has been found to be 5000 years old. The most important
advantage that Ayurvedic prescriptions have over conventional medicine
is that there are absolutely no side effects. It merely corrects
imbalances within your body, such as blood sugar levels, improving
circulation and cleansing the skin. This helps the body to fight
disease and rejuvenate itself.

With western
civilization beginning to understand the importance and benefits of
Ayurveda, there is a rush of medical tourists on their way to
hot-spots in India, undergoing extensive treatment along with a
relaxing and extended vacation.
It’s hard to say whether it is the
effect of the Ayurvedic medicine, or the peace of mind that a stress
free vacation in India brings, or maybe a combination of both, but the
end result is that every single client of ours coming back from
Ayurvedic treatments in India has
spoken in glowing terms about their medical holiday

It is important to understand how Ayurveda can help improve your
life. Life in an urban or suburban metropolis today is a series of
commutes packed in with a stressful workday and total disregard
for the needs of your body, in terms of nutrition, rest and
exercise. When you punish your body like this for a decade or
more, it starts wearing out on you. Small niggles and recurring
problems keep coming up. Heaviness in your chest, obesity,
diabetes, back aches and pains, chronic bronchitis, arthritis,
hearing problems…It just keeps piling up. And you keep on
adjusting and taking more and more medicine, just to make it
through the day. It is here that Ayurveda can help you. If you
feel like you need a new body, or there’s some ailment or nagging
ache which worries you, this might be a good time to understand
what you need to do, and how Ayurveda can help you. |

The actual process of taking an Ayurvedic treatment course
is very simple. After a simple diagnosis, you are given a duration
for the course. The course consists of taking medicine prepared
from herbs and powders – Fully natural. Some ailments, such as
those which require skin rejuvenation or cleansing the blood of
impurities, may require daily visits to the clinic for massages
and application of medicinal poultices and oils. There is a diet
regimen to be followed and a need to allow both your mind and body
to have some rest and relaxation. |
